LM74810QDRRRQ1 Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The LM74810-Q1 from Texas Instruments is an automotive-grade ideal diode controller designed for active rectification and load dump protection. It drives external back-to-back N-channel MOSFETs to emulate an ideal diode, offering power path ON/OFF control and overvoltage protection.

With a wide input supply range of 3 V to 65 V, this controller is suitable for 12-V and 24-V automotive battery-powered ECUs. It can withstand and protect loads from negative supply voltages down to -65 V. The device integrates an ideal diode controller (DGATE) for reverse input protection and output voltage holdup, replacing traditional Schottky diodes. A robust charge pump and fast turn-on/off delays ensure efficient MOSFET switching performance during automotive testing.

The LM74810-Q1 also features a second MOSFET control (HGATE) for load disconnect and overvoltage protection, including adjustable load dump protection. It is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications, with a temperature grade of 1 (-40°C to +125°C ambient operating temperature).

This controller is available in a space-saving 12-pin WSON package measuring 3 mm x 3 mm. Its applications include automotive battery protection for ADAS domain controllers, head units, and premium audio systems, as well as active ORing for redundant power supplies.
