The Texas Instruments LM393N is a low-power dual voltage comparator IC. It is designed to operate from a wide single-supply voltage range of 2V to 36V, or from split power supplies of ±1V to ±18V. This comparator features a very low supply current of 0.45 mA, independent of the supply voltage.
Key electrical characteristics include a low input bias current of 20 nA typical and a low input offset current of ±3 nA typical. The input offset voltage is typically ±1 mV. The input common-mode voltage range includes ground, even when operated from a single power supply. The output saturation voltage is low at 80 mV typical when sinking 4mA. The differential input voltage range is equal to the supply voltage.
Outputs are compatible with TTL, DTL, ECL, MOS, and CMOS logic families. The LM393N is housed in an 8-pin PDIP package and is designed for through-hole mounting. Its operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C.
This general-purpose comparator is suitable for various applications requiring reliable voltage comparison across a broad spectrum of supply conditions.
