The LM35CH from Texas Instruments is a precision integrated-circuit temperature sensor with an output voltage that is linearly proportional to the Centigrade temperature. It offers a convenient 10mV/°C scale factor, eliminating the need for users to subtract a large constant voltage. This sensor is calibrated directly in Celsius and features an ensured accuracy of ±0.4°C at 25°C, with a wider range accuracy of ±0.8°C across its full operating temperature range.
The device operates from a wide supply voltage range of 4V to 30V and draws less than 60µA of current, resulting in very low self-heating (0.08°C in still air). Its low-impedance output and precise inherent calibration make interfacing with readout or control circuitry straightforward. The LM35CH is suitable for remote applications and is available in a TO-46-3 Metal Can package, designed for through-hole mounting.
Key specifications include an operating temperature range of -40°C to 110°C and a typical non-linearity of only ±0.25°C. The low-cost design is achieved through wafer-level trimming and calibration.
