LM34CAZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The LM34CAZ from Texas Instruments is a precision integrated-circuit temperature sensor with an output voltage linearly proportional to the Fahrenheit temperature. It offers a significant advantage over sensors calibrated in Kelvin by eliminating the need to subtract a large constant voltage for Fahrenheit scaling.

This sensor provides typical accuracies of ±0.556°F at room temperature and ±1.5°F over a full -50°F to 300°F temperature range. It features a linear 10.0 mV/°F scale factor and is rated for a wide operating voltage range of 4V to 30V. The low current drain of less than 90µA results in very low self-heating, less than 0.18°F in still air.

Designed for ease of interfacing, the LM34CAZ has a low output impedance of 0.4Ω for a 1-mA load. It is suitable for remote applications and is available in a TO-92-3 package for through-hole mounting.

Key specifications include an operating temperature range of -40°C to 110°C, a sensing temperature range of -40°C to 110°C, and a supply current of up to 160µA. The sensor type is analog and local, with an analog voltage output.
