LM311H

The Texas Instruments LM311H is a voltage comparator that offers significantly lower input currents compared to older devices. It is designed to operate across a wide range of supply voltages, from standard ±15V op amp supplies down to a single 5V supply commonly used for IC logic.

Key electrical specifications include an input current of 150 nA maximum over temperature and an offset current of 20 nA maximum over temperature. The differential input voltage range is ±30V. Power consumption is rated at 135 mW at ±15V. The output is compatible with RTL, DTL, TTL, and MOS circuits, and it can drive lamps or relays, switching voltages up to 50V at currents as high as 50 mA.

This comparator has a response time of 200 ns. Both inputs and outputs can be isolated from system ground, and the output can drive loads referred to ground, the positive supply, or the negative supply. Offset balancing and strobe capability are provided, and outputs can be wire OR'ed. The LM311H operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.

Packaged in a TO-CAN (LMC) configuration, the LM311H is supplied in a standard package quantity of 500 units. Its design makes it less prone to spurious oscillations compared to some other comparator devices.
