The Texas Instruments LM2903N is a dual, general purpose voltage comparator designed for a wide range of applications. It features a broad operating supply voltage range from 2.0 V to 36 V for single supplies, or ±1.0 V to ±18 V for dual supplies. The device draws very low supply current, approximately 0.4 mA, which is independent of the supply voltage magnitude, making it suitable for battery-powered applications.
Key electrical characteristics include a low input bias current of 25 nA and a low input offset current of ±5 nA. The maximum offset voltage is ±3 mV. The input common-mode voltage range includes ground, and the differential input voltage range can equal the power supply voltage. The output saturation voltage is low at 250 mV at 4 mA, and the output is compatible with TTL, DTL, ECL, MOS, and CMOS logic systems.
This comparator has a propagation delay of 700 ns maximum. It is housed in an 8-PDIP package and supports through-hole mounting. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
Applications include limit comparators, simple analog-to-digital converters, pulse and squarewave generators, and wide-range VCOs. Its compatibility with various logic systems and low power drain make it a versatile choice for many electronic designs.
The LM2903N operates from a 2.0 V to 36 V single supply or ±1.0 V to ±18 V dual supplies.
