The LM1815N from Texas Instruments is an adaptive sense amplifier designed for motor control applications. This IC provides a one-shot pulse output synchronized with the negative-going zero crossing of a ground-referenced input signal, such as from a variable reluctance magnetic pick-up coil.
Key features include single supply operation from 2V to 12V, a ground-referenced input, and true zero-crossing timing reference. It can handle input signals ranging from 100 mV P-P to over 120V P-P with the use of an external resistor. The adaptive sense amplifier adjusts its input hysteresis based on the input signal amplitude, allowing it to effectively sense signals in noisy environments where high-speed noise may exceed the low-speed signal amplitude. The minimum input signal required is 150mV P-P.
This device is suitable for applications requiring precise timing references derived from variable reluctance sensors. Its CMOS compatible logic output simplifies integration into digital systems. The LM1815N is packaged in a 14-PDIP through-hole configuration, making it suitable for breadboarding and through-hole assembly processes.
The LM1815N operates from a 2V to 12V supply voltage.
The minimum input signal required is 150mV P-P.
The LM1815N is available in a 14-PDIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C.
