The LIS35DE from STMicroelectronics is an ultra-compact, low-power, 3-axis linear accelerometer designed for motion sensing applications. It utilizes a dedicated silicon process for its sensing element and a CMOS process for its IC interface, enabling reliable acceleration measurement.
This accelerometer offers dynamically selectable full-scale ranges of ±2g and ±8g, with output data rates of 100 Hz or 400 Hz. It features an I2C/SPI digital output interface, programmable interrupt generators for wake-up and free-fall detection, click and double-click recognition, and an embedded high-pass filter. The device boasts high shock survivability up to 10000g.
Designed for surface mounting, the LIS35DE comes in a 14-LGA (3x5mm) package. It operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is compatible with 1.8V I/Os. Its low power consumption makes it suitable for battery-powered devices.
Applications include free-fall detection, motion-activated functions, gaming, virtual reality input devices, and vibration monitoring and compensation.
