The Zarlink Semiconductor LE79Q2281DVC is a Quad Intelligent Subscriber Line Audio-processing Circuit (ISLAC™) designed for telephony applications. It operates on a 3.3V DC power supply and features selectable PCM/MPI or GCI digital interfaces, supporting master clock frequencies from 512 kHz to 8.192 MHz.
This device provides programmable control of major line card functions, including A-law/µ-law and linear codec/filter, transmit and receive gain, impedance, and hybrid balance. It also supports DC loop feeding, polarity reversal, loop supervision, and off-hook debounce circuits. The integrated ringing generation and ring-trip detection, along with adaptive hybrid balance, contribute to its advanced functionality.
The LE79Q2281DVC meets GR-909 and GR-844 test requirements and includes tone generation capabilities for DTMF, FSK, and arbitrary tones, as well as metering generation. It is housed in a 64-pin TQFP package and is supplied in a tray.
Applications for this circuit include Voice over IP/DSL, Cable Telephony, Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Wireless Local Loop, and Intelligent PBX systems.
