The LCDA12 from SMC Diode Solutions is a bidirectional TVS diode array designed to protect sensitive electronics from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other voltage transients. Each device protects two high-speed I/O lines in a compact 8-SOIC surface mount package.
Key electrical specifications include a stand-off voltage of 12 V, minimum breakdown voltage of 13.3 V at 1 mA, and maximum clamping voltage of 19 V at 1 A. The device can handle 300 W peak pulse power per the 8/20 µs waveform, with a low leakage current of 1 µA at 12 V. Capacitance is just 5 pF at 1 MHz, making it suitable for high-speed data line protection.
The LCDA12 operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 125°C and is available in tape and reel packaging with 2500 pieces per reel. Parts with the '-A' suffix are AEC-Q101 qualified for automotive applications. The device is Pb-free and uses solid-state silicon avalanche technology.
