The Microchip Technology LAN91C110-PU is a FEAST Fast Ethernet Controller suitable for PCMCIA and generic 16-bit system interfaces. It supports dual speeds of 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps, complying with the IEEE 802.3 100BASE-T specification and supporting 100BASE-TX and 100BASE-T4.
This controller features a 16-bit wide data path into packet buffer memory and is easily adaptable to ISA, PCMCIA (16-bit CardBus), and various CPU system interfaces, supporting both 16-bit and 8-bit CPU accesses. It includes an asynchronous bus interface and 128 Kbyte of external memory.
The device incorporates a built-in transparent arbitration for slave sequential access architecture and a flat MMU architecture with symmetric transmit and receive structures and queues. The MAC-PHY interface is IEEE-802.3 MII compliant and operates at a nibble rate, with an MII management serial interface. It also supports IEEE-802.3u full duplex capability.
