L6219DSTR Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The L6219DS motor driver from Allegro Microsystems is engineered to control both windings of a bipolar stepper motor or to bidirectionally manage two DC motors. Each bridge in the device can sustain up to 45V and incorporates internal pulse-width modulation (PWM) for output current control, rated up to 750 mA continuous.

The driver features optimized low output saturation voltage drop, ensuring efficient operation. Current limits can be selected by the user via logic-level inputs, offering 0, 33, 67, or 100% of the maximum level. The PHASE input on each bridge dictates the load current direction.

Protection features include internal clamp and flyback diodes for inductive transients, and internal thermal shutdown circuitry to prevent overheating. Crossover currents are prevented by internally generated delays. The L6219DS is supplied in a 24-pin surface-mountable SOIC package, suitable for compact constructions.

This motor driver is lead (Pb) free with 100% matte tin leadframe plating. It is interchangeable with the SGS L6219DS and similar to the Dual PBL3717 and UC3770.
