The ST L6208PD is a fully integrated DMOS driver for bipolar stepper motors. It is realized in BCD technology, combining DMOS power transistors with CMOS and bipolar circuits on a single chip.
Key electrical specifications include an operating supply voltage range of 8V to 52V and an output peak current of 5.6A (2.8A RMS). The device features a low RDS(ON) of 0.3 Ohms typical at 25°C and can operate at frequencies up to 100 KHz. It incorporates non-dissipative overcurrent protection, dual independent constant tOFF PWM current controllers, and fast/slow decay mode selection.
