The Kionix KXTE9-1026 is a high-performance silicon micromachined linear accelerometer and inclinometer. It features an ultra-small 3x3x0.9mm Land Grid Array (LGA) package.
This device operates with a supply voltage from 1.8V to 3.6V DC and consumes very low power, drawing only 30µA during full operation. It includes advanced features such as an activity-monitoring algorithm for detecting motion states (active/inactive) and a device orientation detection algorithm for reporting changes in landscape, portrait, face-up, and face-down conditions.
The KXTE9-1026 utilizes a digital I2C communication interface. Its sensor element is fabricated using proprietary Deep Reactive Ion Etching (DRIE) processes and protected by a hermetically-sealed silicon cap. The accelerometer is designed for high shock survivability and excellent temperature performance, with user-selectable output data rates and factory-programmable offset and sensitivity.
Applications include screen rotation, gesture recognition, user interface enhancements, power management, and activity monitoring in mobile phones and other portable devices.
