The KITMMA9550LEVM is an evaluation board designed for the NXP MMA955XL intelligent motion-sensing platform. This platform integrates a 3-axis accelerometer with selectable sensitivity ranges of ±2g, ±4g, and ±8g, along with an integrated temperature sensor. The board communicates via I²C interface and supports output data rates from 0.24 Hz to 3906 Hz. The utilized MMA955XL IC features a 32-bit core processor, 16 KB flash memory, and 2 KB RAM, enabling on-board processing and decision-making. The evaluation kit includes the board and necessary cables for immediate setup. It is ideal for developing applications such as gesture recognition, pedometer functionality, tilt compensation, and activity monitoring. The board does not include an embedded microcontroller, as the sensor itself contains a programmable MCU for custom algorithm implementation.
