The Texas Instruments JBP18S030MJ is a monolithic TTL programmable read-only memory (PROM) with a memory size of 256 bits, organized as 32 words by 8 bits. It features titanium-tungsten (Ti-W) fuse links for reliable low-voltage programming, with each link designed to program in 20 microseconds. This PROM offers full decoding and fast chip select for simplified system design, along with P-N-P inputs for reduced loading on system buffers/drivers.

The JBP18S030MJ is rated for military operating temperatures ranging from -55°C to 125°C. It is available in a 16-pin CDIP package. The device supports a choice of 3-state or open-collector outputs, providing flexibility for different system interfaces. Applications include microprogramming/firmware loaders, code converters/character generators, translators/emulators, and address mapping/look-up tables.

Data can be electronically programmed at any bit location. The programming procedure is irreversible, permanently altering the logic level at selected locations by open-circuiting Ti-W metal links. Outputs that have never been altered can later be programmed to supply the opposite logic level. Operation within recommended conditions will not alter the memory content. A low level at the chip-select input enables the PROM, while the opposite level turns the outputs off.
