The JANTXV1N4960US is a military-qualified Zener voltage regulator diode from Microchip Technology, designed for high-reliability applications. It provides a nominal Zener voltage of 12V with a tolerance of ±5%, and can dissipate up to 5W of power (derated linearly above 140°C case temperature to zero at 175°C).
The device is housed in a hermetically sealed, voidless hard glass SQ-MELF package (D-5B) with tungsten slugs and tin/lead plated copper end caps. It is surface mountable and has a maximum thermal resistance of 7°C/W from junction to end cap. The diode operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to +175°C.
This part is part of the JANTXV screening level per MIL-PRF-19500/356, making it suitable for aerospace, defense, and other mission-critical systems where reliability is paramount. The robust construction includes triple-layer passivation and internal metallurgical bonds.
