ISO7220CDR

The ISO7220CDR from Texas Instruments is a dual-channel digital isolator designed for robust signal isolation in various electronic systems. It offers a high isolation voltage of 2500Vrms and supports data rates up to 25Mbps, with options for 1, 5, 25, and 150Mbps signaling rates available within the family.

This isolator utilizes capacitive coupling technology with a silicon dioxide isolation barrier, ensuring effective galvanic isolation. Key electrical characteristics include low channel-to-channel output skew of 1ns maximum, low pulse-width distortion of 1ns maximum, and typical jitter content of 1ns at 150Mbps. It provides 50kV/µs typical transient immunity and 4kV ESD protection, enhancing its reliability in noisy environments.

The ISO7220CDR operates with supply voltages of 2.8V (C-Grade), 3.3V, or 5V and functions within an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The device is housed in a standard 8-SOIC package and is designed for surface mount applications.

This digital isolator is suitable for applications requiring the blocking of high voltages, isolation of grounds, and prevention of noise currents from interfering with sensitive circuitry. Its design facilitates PCB layout with channels oriented in the same direction.
