ISO35DW Description

The Texas Instruments ISO35DW is an isolated full-duplex differential line transceiver designed for TIA/EIA 485/422 applications. It supports signaling rates up to 1 Mbps and offers 2500Vrms isolation per UL 1577 and CSA 62368-1 standards, with a symmetrical barrier tested to provide 4000V PK per VDE.

 

This transceiver meets or exceeds TIA/EIA RS-485 requirements and supports up to 256 nodes on a bus with 1/8 unit load. Key electrical features include a typical low bus capacitance of 16 pF and 50 kV/µs typical transient immunity. It also incorporates thermal shutdown protection and a fail-safe receiver for bus open, short, or idle conditions. The 3.3V inputs are 5V tolerant.

 

The ISO35DW is available in a 16-SOIC package and is designed for surface mounting. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. This device is ideal for long transmission lines as it breaks the ground loop, allowing for a larger common-mode voltage range.
