ISO1044BD

The Texas Instruments ISO1044BD is an isolated CAN FD transceiver designed to meet the ISO 11898-2:2016 physical layer standard. It supports classic CAN up to 1 Mbps and flexible data rate (FD) up to 5 Mbps, making it suitable for high-speed automotive and industrial communication systems.

Key electrical specifications include a working isolation voltage of 459 Vrms, surge isolation voltage of 8000 VPK, and transient isolation voltage of 4242 VPK. The device offers ±58 V of DC bus fault protection and operates over a common-mode voltage range of ±12 V. It supports multiple logic interface voltages from 1.71 V to 5.5 V for VCC1 and 4.5 V to 5.5 V for VCC2.

This transceiver features high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 85 kV/µs minimum, ensuring reliable data transmission in noisy environments. It includes protection features such as driver dominant time out and undervoltage protection on both VCC1 and VCC2 supplies. The ISO1044BD is housed in a compact 8-SOIC package, measuring 4.9 mm × 6 mm, and is designed for surface mount applications.

With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, the ISO1044BD is built for demanding applications. It also meets IEC ESD tolerance on bus pins of ±8 kV and HBM ESD tolerance of ±10 kV, enhancing system robustness.
