ISL95853IRZ

The Renesas ISL95853IRZ is a multiphase PWM regulator specifically designed to provide a complete power supply solution for microprocessor core power, compliant with Intel IMVP8 specifications. It integrates two gate drivers and supports an external one, allowing configuration as a 3-, 2-, or 1-phase regulator for maximum design flexibility. This device utilizes the serial control bus (SVID) for communication with the CPU, contributing to lower costs and smaller board areas.

Based on Intersil's R3™ technology, the ISL95853 offers a PWM modulator with faster transient settling times and variable switching frequency during load transients. It also features improved light load efficiency through automatic switching frequency adjustments. Key electrical features include 0.5% system accuracy over temperature, support for both lossless inductor DCR current sensing and precision resistor current sensing, differential remote voltage sensing, and programmable V BOOT voltage at start-up. Additionally, it provides programmable ICCMAX, programmable voltage transition slew rate, adaptive body diode conduction time reduction, and a system input power monitor.

The ISL95853IRZ is housed in a 32-lead 4x4 QFN package. Its applications include notebook and desktop computers, where precise and efficient core voltage regulation is critical. The device supports adjustable switching frequency and includes overcurrent protection and a power-good output.
