The ISL6526IRZ from Intersil is a single synchronous buck pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller. It is designed to drive N-Channel MOSFETs in a synchronous buck topology, integrating control, output adjustment, monitoring, and protection functions into a single package.
This controller offers a simple, single feedback loop, voltage-mode control with fast transient response. The output voltage can be precisely regulated to as low as 0.8V with a maximum tolerance of ±1.5% over temperature and line voltage variations. It features a fixed frequency oscillator operating at 600kHz, balancing application cost and efficiency.
The error amplifier boasts a 15MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 6V/μs slew rate, enabling high converter bandwidth for fast transient performance. The resulting PWM duty cycles range from 0% to 100%. Protection from overcurrent conditions is provided by monitoring the rDS(ON) of the upper MOSFET, simplifying implementation and improving efficiency by eliminating the need for a current sense resistor.
The ISL6526IRZ is available in a 16-lead QFN package with an exposed pad. It supports surface mount mounting type and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
