The ISL6327CRZ-T from Intersil is a DC DC switching controller capable of driving up to 6 synchronous-rectified buck channels in parallel. Its multiphase buck converter architecture utilizes interleaved timing to enhance channel ripple frequency, thereby reducing input and output ripple currents. This leads to fewer components, lower costs, reduced power dissipation, and a smaller implementation area.
Designed to handle the demanding transient loads of modern microprocessors, the ISL6327CRZ-T employs Intersil's proprietary Active Pulse Positioning (APP) and Adaptive Phase Alignment (APA) modulation schemes. This enables extremely fast transient response with fewer required output capacitors. The controller accurately senses output current using patented techniques for precision droop, channel-current balancing, and overcurrent protection. It supports an operating voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V and an output voltage range from 0.5V to 1.600V, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.
The device features differential remote voltage sensing to eliminate ground differences, improving regulation and protection accuracy. It includes a threshold-sensitive enable input for coordinated start-up and Dynamic-VID™ technology for seamless on-the-fly VID changes. The ISL6327CRZ-T is available in a 48-QFN (7x7) package suitable for surface mounting.
