IR1176 Description

This gate driver IC features a high peak current drive capability of 4A and supports high-speed operation up to 2MHz. It operates with a supply voltage range of 4.0V to 5.25V and has a maximum lead time of 500nsec. The IR1176 is designed for stand-alone operation, deriving its power directly from the secondary side without requiring ties to the primary side.

 

It includes Schmitt trigger inputs with double pulse suppression, allowing operation in noisy environments. The circuit anticipates transformer output transitions to turn MOSFETs on or off, minimizing body drain diode conduction and associated losses. Turn on/off lead time can be adjusted to accommodate various power MOSFET sizes and circuit conditions.

 

The IR1176 is available in a 20-PDIP package with through-hole mounting. It operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 150°C (TJ).
