The Texas Instruments INA240A1PWR is a voltage-output, current-sense amplifier designed for precise current measurements. It features enhanced PWM rejection, providing high suppression for common-mode transients in systems using pulse width modulation (PWM) signals, such as motor drives and solenoid control systems. This allows for accurate current sensing without significant output voltage ripple.
The device operates over a wide common-mode voltage range of -4 V to 80 V, independent of the supply voltage. This negative common-mode capability is beneficial for applications like solenoid flyback periods. It supports a single supply voltage from 2.7 V to 5.5 V and draws a maximum quiescent current of 2.4 mA.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum gain error of 0.20% and a gain drift of 2.5 ppm/°C. The offset voltage is a maximum of ±25 µV with an offset drift of 250 nV/°C. Four fixed gains are available: 20 V/V, 50 V/V, 100 V/V, and 200 V/V. The INA240A1PWR variant offers a gain of 20 V/V.
Packaged in an 8-pin TSSOP (PW) package, this surface-mount device is supplied on a large tape and reel with a standard package quantity of 2000 units. It operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
