The IGW40N65F5FKSA1 is a 650V IGBT from Infineon's TRENCHSTOP 5 technology, designed for high-speed switching applications. It features a typical continuous collector current of 40A (maximum 74A) and a low collector-emitter saturation voltage of 1.6V typical at 25°C. The device offers a gate charge of 95 nC and switching energies of 360 µJ (turn-on) and 100 µJ (turn-off) under test conditions of 400V, 20A, and 15Ω gate resistance.
This IGBT is optimized for hard-switching and resonant topologies, making it suitable for solar converters, uninterruptible power supplies, welding converters, and mid to high frequency switching converters. It operates over a junction temperature range of -40°C to 175°C, with a maximum power dissipation of 255W.
