The Sony ICX419ALL is a diagonal 8mm (Type 1/2) interline CCD solid-state image sensor suitable for CCIR black and white video cameras. It boasts significant improvements over the ICX039DLA in basic characteristics such as sensitivity, smear, dynamic range, and signal-to-noise ratio.
This sensor features a field period readout system and an electronic shutter with variable charge-storage time, providing a continuous variable-speed shutter. Key specifications include a high sensitivity of +5.0dB, low smear of -5.0dB, and high dynamic range of +3.0dB compared to the ICX039DLA. It also offers high resolution, low dark current, and excellent antiblooming characteristics.
