The Samtec ICA-628-SST is a 28-position DIP IC socket from the ICA series, designed for through hole mounting with standard solder tail leads. It features a 0.6" (15.24mm) row spacing and 2.54mm pitch, accommodating 28-pin DIP packages in a 2x14 grid.
Electrical specifications include a 1A current rating per contact, 10mΩ maximum contact resistance, 5000 MΩ minimum insulation resistance, and 1000 VRMS withstanding voltage. The contacts are made of beryllium copper with ST plating option providing 10µ" (0.25µm) gold contact area over nickel, with a tin shell. The housing is black glass filled polyester with UL 94V-0 flammability rating.
The open frame design allows for easy inspection and cleaning, and the socket is side and end stackable. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C. Insertion force is 9 oz average (16 oz max) per contact, withdrawal force is 2.5 oz average (1.5 oz min) per contact.
