The Samtec ICA-628-SGT is a 28-position (2x14) open frame DIP socket designed for through hole mounting. It uses a 2.54mm (0.100") pitch with 15.24mm (0.6") row spacing, and features gold plated beryllium copper contacts with 30µ" gold plating on the contact area and a tin shell. The housing is glass-filled polyester with UL 94V-0 flammability rating.
Electrically, the socket is rated for 1A continuous current with a maximum contact resistance of 10mΩ, minimum insulation resistance of 5000MΩ, and a dielectric withstanding voltage of 1000V RMS. The standard insertion force per contact is 9 oz average (16 oz max), with a withdrawal force of 2.5 oz average (1.5 oz min). A low insertion force variant is also available in the series.
The operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C for gold plated contacts. The open body design allows for easy cleaning and inspection, and the socket is side and end stackable. It is designed for auto insertion processes and mates with Samtec APA series pin headers.
