The IAM-20680HT from InvenSense Inc. is a high-performance, 6-axis MotionTracking device designed for automotive non-safety applications. This device integrates a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer into a compact 3x3x0.75mm, 16-pin LGA package.
Key features include user-programmable full-scale ranges for the gyroscope (±250 dps to ±2000 dps) and accelerometer (±2g to ±16g). It also incorporates 16-bit ADCs for both sensors, programmable digital filters, an embedded temperature sensor, and two programmable interrupts, including a Wake-on-Motion feature for low-power operation.
The IAM-20680HT supports I2C and SPI serial interfaces, with an operating voltage range of 1.71V to 3.6V for both VDD and VDDIO. Its 4096-byte FIFO buffer helps reduce processor load by allowing burst data reads.
This device is suitable for a wide range of automotive applications such as navigation systems, dead reckoning, lift gate motion detection, vehicle location tracking, and camera stabilization. Reliability testing is performed according to AEC–Q100 standards.
