The HMC498LC4 is a high dynamic range GaAs PHEMT MMIC Medium Power Amplifier designed for operation between 17 and 24 GHz. This amplifier delivers 22 dB of gain, +26 dBm of saturated power, and 23% PAE from a +5V supply voltage. With a noise figure of 4 dB and an output IP3 of +36 dBm typical, it is suitable for low noise front-end applications as well as driver amplifier roles.
The RF I/Os are DC blocked and matched to 50 Ohms for ease of use, eliminating the need for wire bonding and allowing for surface mount manufacturing techniques. The device is housed in a leadless "Pb free" 4x4 mm SMT package, specifically a 24-QFN (4x4) with an exposed pad.
Typical applications include point-to-point radios, point-to-multi-point radios and VSAT systems, test equipment, and sensors. The amplifier requires a +5V supply and draws 250 mA of current.
