The Honeywell HMC1512-TR is a miniature surface mount sensor utilizing Anisotropic Magnetoresistive (AMR) technology for precise linear, angular, or rotary displacement sensing. It is designed for magnetic saturating field sensing and provides an output voltage relative to the magnetic flux direction.
This sensor features dual saturated-mode Wheatstone bridge elements, enabling an extended range of angular displacements up to ±90°. It offers a resolution of better than 0.05° and a linear range of over 8mm. The HMC1512-TR operates with a supply voltage between 1V and 25V and has a bridge resistance of 2.8 kΩ.
Designed for high-volume OEM applications, the HMC1512-TR is cost-effective and space-efficient. It is suitable for applications requiring absolute sensing, where the exact position is known without indexing. The sensor is insensitive to shocks and vibrations and can withstand large variations in magnet-to-sensor gaps.
The HMC1512-TR comes in an 8-SOIC package with Gull Wing termination, making it suitable for high-speed SMT assembly. It operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. The sensor requires an external magnet, which is not included.
