The Honeywell HIH-4000-001 is a humidity sensor from the HIH-4000 Series, specifically designed for high-volume OEM users. It provides a near-linear voltage output proportional to relative humidity, making direct input to controllers possible. With a typical current draw of only 200 µA, it is suitable for low-power, battery-operated systems.
This sensor features laser-trimmed interchangeability, reducing OEM calibration costs. The sensing element is a thermoset polymer capacitive type with integrated signal conditioning. Its multilayer construction offers resistance to wetting, dust, dirt, oils, and common environmental chemicals.
The HIH-4000-001 operates over a voltage supply range of 4 to 5.8 Vdc and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It measures humidity from 0 to 100% RH with an accuracy of ±3.5% RH. The sensor has a fast response time of 5 seconds and a settling time of 70 ms.
Packaged in a solderable SIP (Single In-line Package) with through-hole mounting, this sensor is ideal for applications in HVAC, refrigeration, medical equipment, drying, and battery-powered systems.
