The Holt Integrated Circuits HI-3584PQIF-10 is a silicon gate CMOS device designed for interfacing a 3.3V 16-bit parallel data bus to the ARINC 429 serial bus. This protocol IC offers dual receivers, each equipped with label recognition and a 32x32 FIFO, along with an analog line receiver. The independent transmitter also features a 32x32 FIFO. Up to 16 labels can be programmed for each receiver.
Key features include programmable option for data or parity in the 32nd bit and the ability to unscramble the 32-bit word. Versions with different input resistance values are available for easier integration of external lightning protection circuitry. The device operates with a 3.3V logic supply and uses a 1 MHz clock for timing. It is housed in a compact 9mm x 9mm chip-scale package.
Applications for the HI-3584PQIF-10 include avionics, data communication, serial to parallel conversion, and parallel to serial conversion. Additional interface circuitry may be required to translate the transmitter's 3.3V logic outputs to ARINC 429 drive levels.
