HI-1566CDM

The Holt HI-1566CDM is a dual transceiver IC built with low-power CMOS technology, specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of MIL-STD-1553A & B and MIL-STD-1760 specifications. This component provides superb resistance to electrostatic discharge (ESD) across all operational modes, ensuring reliability in demanding environments.

The transmitter section converts complementary CMOS/TTL digital input data into bi-phase Manchester encoded 1553 signals, suitable for driving bus isolation transformers. Each transmitter channel features separate inhibit control signals. The receiver section decodes the 1553 bus bi-phase data back into complementary CMOS/TTL data for Manchester decoders. Each receiver includes an enable input for output control.

Designed for minimal footprint, the transmitter outputs are internally connected to the receiver inputs, requiring only two pins for coupling transformer connections. The HI-1566CDM boasts a maximum power dissipation of less than 1.0W and ESD protection exceeding 8KV on BUS pins. It is available in multiple package options including 20-pin Plastic ESOIC, 20-pin Ceramic Side-Brazed DIP, and a 44-pin Plastic Chip-Scale Package (QFN) with an integral heatsink.
