The HFA16TB120S is a state-of-the-art ultrafast recovery diode from Vishay's HEXFRED series. It employs advanced epitaxial construction for superb switching performance. Rated at 1200V reverse voltage and 16A average forward current, it features a typical reverse recovery time of 30 ns and a reverse recovery charge of 260 nC. The forward voltage is typically 2.5V at 16A and 25°C, with a maximum of 3V. The diode is designed for high efficiency power conversion and is especially well suited as a companion diode for IGBTs and MOSFETs. It comes in a surface mount TO-263AB (D2PAK) package with a gull wing lead style. Applications include power supplies, inverters, motor drives, and other high frequency systems where low switching losses and reduced EMI are critical.

The maximum average rectified current is 16 A at a case temperature of 100 °C.
