HF221NR

The Siemens HF221NR is a Type VBII enclosed, fusible, heavy-duty safety switch suitable for outdoor applications. It features a 240V AC voltage rating and a 30A current rating, with a 1-1/2 hp motor capacity.

This single-throw switch is designed with a quick-make, quick-break operating mechanism for positive operation and visible blades with double-break switching action. It includes arc chutes to dissipate heat and prolong switch life. The NEMA 3R enclosure provides protection for outdoor use, and the switch is surface mounted with lug terminals.

Key features include a highly visible red handle grip designed for hook stick operation, a defeatable dual cover interlock, and the ability to padlock the handle in the off position. Generous gutters meet NEC wire bending space requirements, and tangential knockouts facilitate easy conduit lineup. The enclosure design enhances rigidity and protects conductors and installers.

Spring-reinforced fuse clips ensure reliable contact for cool operation. The door latch securely holds the door closed and allows for cover padlocking. Front removable mechanical lugs are suitable for copper or aluminum conductors (60 or 75 deg C) and are field convertible. A hinged clear line terminal shield with probe holes allows for inspection or testing of line-side terminals. An embossed aluminum nameplate provides clear ON/OFF indication.
