The HCT244 is an octal buffer and line driver designed for improving performance and density in 3-state memory address drivers, clock drivers, and bus-oriented receivers and transmitters. Manufactured by PORTUGAL, this component features two 4-bit buffers/drivers with separate output-enable inputs.
Key electrical characteristics include an operating voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V, high-current outputs capable of driving up to 15 LSTTL loads, and a typical propagation delay of 13 ns. It offers ±6mA output drive at 5V and low power consumption with a maximum ICC of 80 µA. Input current is also minimized to 1 µA max, and inputs are TTL-voltage compatible.
This device is organized as two independent 4-bit buffers. When the output enable (OE) is low, data from the A inputs is passed noninverted to the Y outputs. When OE is high, the outputs enter a high-impedance state. The HCT244 is available in a 20-SOIC (0.209", 5.30mm Width) package and is suitable for surface mounting.
It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
