HCS370/ST

The Microchip Technology HCS370/ST is a specialized integrated circuit designed for secure remote keyless entry (RKE) and remote control systems. It utilizes KEELOQ code hopping technology to provide high security, preventing code scanning and code grabbing attacks. The device supports programmable 32-bit serial numbers, 64-bit encoder keys, and 60-bit seed values, with each transmission being unique and having a code length of 67/69 bits.

Operating within a voltage range of 2.05V to 5.5V, the HCS370/ST features six button inputs that allow for up to 15 functions. It supports various modulation types including PWM, VPWM, PPM, and Manchester, and offers four selectable baud rates. The encoder includes an on-chip EEPROM for storing configuration data, which is read-protected to enhance security. An on-chip tuned oscillator with ±10% tolerance over voltage and temperature ensures stable operation.

This component is ideal for applications such as automotive RKE systems, alarm systems, immobilizers, gate and garage door openers, and identity tokens. It is housed in a compact 14-TSSOP surface mount package, minimizing board space. The HCS370/ST also provides a battery low signal to the receiver and supports dual encoder functionality, allowing for flexible implementation in multi-manufacturer systems.
