HCS365T/SM

The Microchip Technology HCS365T/SM is a secure code hopping encoder utilizing KEELOQ technology for remote keyless entry (RKE) and remote control systems. This unidirectional authentication device offers high security by combining a hopping code generated by a nonlinear encryption algorithm, a serial number, and status bits to create a unique transmission code, mitigating code scanning and grabbing threats.

Key security features include two programmable 32-bit serial numbers, two programmable 64-bit crypt keys, and two programmable 60-bit seed values. The transmission code length is 67/69 bits with a 32-bit hopping code. Crypt keys are read-protected for enhanced security.

Operating within a 2.05V to 5.5V range, the HCS365T/SM features four button inputs, 15 available functions, and selectable baud rates. It supports various modulation types including PWM, VPWM, PPM, and Manchester. The device includes an on-chip EEPROM for storing configuration data and an on-chip tuned oscillator with ±10% tolerance over voltage and temperature.

Packaged in an 8-SOIC (0.209", 5.30mm Width) surface-mount package, the HCS365T/SM is suitable for applications such as automotive RKE systems, alarm systems, immobilizers, gate and garage door openers, and identity tokens. The device also offers dual encoder functionality, allowing two manufacturers to use the same device without code conflicts.
