HCS200-I/SN

The Microchip HCS200-I/SN is a specialized integrated circuit designed for secure Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) applications. It utilizes KEELOQ® code hopping technology to provide high security, making it an ideal replacement for fixed code devices in access control and unidirectional RKE systems.

This encoder operates over a wide voltage range of 3.5V to 13.0V and offers three button inputs, enabling up to seven functions. Key security features include a programmable 28-bit serial number, a programmable 64-bit crypt key, and a unique 66-bit transmission code length. Each transmission is unique, and the code hopping mechanism prevents code scanning and capture.

The HCS200-I/SN is supplied in an 8-SOIC package suitable for surface mounting. Its design incorporates on-chip EEPROM, an oscillator, and internal pull-down resistors on button inputs, minimizing external component requirements and system cost. Typical applications include automotive RKE systems, alarm systems, immobilizers, and gate/garage door openers.

Security is enhanced by read-protected crypt keys and non-volatile synchronization data. The device also provides a low battery signal to the receiver and supports automatic code word completion.
