The Broadcom® HCPL-M452 is a single-channel, diode-transistor optocoupler in a compact SO-5 package. Designed for high-speed TTL/TTL applications, it operates at speeds up to 1 Mb/s.
This optocoupler features an open collector output and provides 3750Vrms isolation voltage. The HCPL-M452 is suitable for applications requiring high-speed logic ground isolation, such as TTL/CMOS interfaces. Its small outline, low-profile JEDEC registered package is surface mountable and compatible with standard reflow soldering processes.
The HCPL-M452 is designed to replace slower phototransistor optocouplers and pulse transformers, offering space and weight savings. It utilizes an insulating layer between the LED and an integrated photon detector for electrical insulation.
