HCPL-7520

The HCPL-7520 is an isolated linear current sensing integrated circuit from Agilent Technologies, specifically engineered for current sensing in low-power electronic motor drives. It utilizes advanced sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter technology to provide excellent offset and gain accuracy and stability over time and temperature.

Key electrical specifications include a high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 15 kV/µs at 1000 V, a gain drift of 60 ppm/°C, an input offset voltage of -0.6 mV, and an input offset voltage drift of 8 µV/°C. The device features a 100 kHz bandwidth and a non-linearity of 0.06% for single-ended amplifier output, making it suitable for low-power applications. It also boasts a common-mode transient immunity of at least 10 kV/µs.

This IC is housed in a compact, auto-insertable 8-pin DIP package, meeting worldwide regulatory safety standards. It is suitable for general analog signal isolation applications as well. The HCPL-7520 is UL Recognized with 3750 Vrms for 1 minute per UL1577 and also meets IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2 standards for option 060.

Applications include low-power inverter current sensing, motor phase and rail current sensing, switched mode power supply signal isolation, and general-purpose low-power current sensing and monitoring.
