HC5549CM

The HC5549CM is a 100V dielectrically isolated bipolar integrated circuit designed as a low power Subscriber Line Interface Circuit (SLIC). It is optimized for applications requiring battery-backed remote terminals or emergency powering from the line, such as European ISDN NT1+ designs.

This SLIC supports dual battery operation, allowing for lower power dissipation in off-hook conditions. The high battery supply can be used for on-hook interfacing with devices like fax and answering machines that require 48V to detect end-of-call status. It features a low power standby state with a consumption of 35mW at 48V, ensuring minimal battery drain while maintaining loop supervision.

The HC5549CM provides essential functions including loop current, ground key, and ring trip detection, along with an alarm output for thermal overload. It facilitates 2-wire to 4-wire and 4-wire to 2-wire conversion, with impedance matching achieved through a single external network. The device is compatible with dual and single supply switched capacitor or DSP codec/filters.

Available in a 28-lead PLCC package, the HC5549CM operates within ambient temperature ranges of 0°C to 70°C or -40°C to 85°C. It supports features such as on-hook transmission, tip and ring disconnect, soft or hard polarity reversal, and 12kHz or 16kHz pulse metering.
