GA3157-ALD

The Coilcraft GA3157-ALD is a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Power Transformer specifically designed for use with Analog Devices ADM2482E and ADM2487E High Speed, Isolated RS-485 Transceivers. This transformer has a center-tapped primary and secondary winding.

Key electrical specifications include a minimum inductance of 45.6 µH tested at 500 kHz, 0.5 Vrms, and 0 Adc. The maximum DC resistance (DCR) for each half of the primary and secondary is 0.13 Ohms. Leakage inductance is specified at a maximum of 0.155 µH, measured with the primary windings in series and the secondary windings shorted. The volt-time product is a maximum of 1.14 V-µsec.

This transformer is rated for a calculated output power of 7.2 W based on a 150 kHz operating frequency, though actual power may vary with application. It provides 2500 Vrms primary to secondary isolation. The core material is ferrite.

The component operates within an ambient temperature range of –40°C to +125°C. Storage temperature for the component is also –40°C to +125°C, while tape and reel packaging is rated for –40°C to +80°C. It can withstand a maximum of three 40-second reflows at +260°C, with parts cooled between cycles. The Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) is 1, offering unlimited floor life at conditions below 30°C / 85% relative humidity. Terminations are RoHS compliant tin-silver over tin over nickel over phos bronze. The transformer is supplied on a 13-inch reel, with 600 units per reel, packaged in plastic tape measuring 24 mm wide and 0.37 mm thick.
