This controller integrates the physical layer of the USB BMC power delivery protocol, enabling up to 100W of power and role swap capabilities. It fully supports alternative interfaces of the Type-C specification and offers dual-role functionality with autonomous DRP toggle. The device can connect as either a host or a device based on what has been attached, and it is software configurable as a dedicated host, dedicated device, or dual role.

 

Key features include full Type-C 1.2 support, with integrated functionality for the CC pin such as attach/detach detection, current capability indication/detection, and support for accessory modes like Audio Adapter and Debug Accessory. It also integrates a CCx to VCONN switch with over-current limiting for powering USB3.1 full-featured cables. The FUSB302BVMPX supports USB Power Delivery (PD) 2.0, Version 1.2, with automatic packet response and retries. It also provides dead battery support in SNK mode and operates at low power with a typical current consumption of 25 µA.

 

The FUSB302BVMPX is AEC-Q100 Automotive Qualified for Temperature Grade 2, operating from -40°C to 105°C. It is available in a 14-lead WQFN package with an exposed pad, suitable for surface mounting.
