The FSUSB43L10X from ON Semiconductor is a bi-directional, low-power, two-port, high-speed USB 2.0 switch. Configured as a double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) switch, it is optimized for switching between two high-speed (480 Mbps) sources or a high-speed and full-speed (12 Mbps) source.

 

This device is compatible with USB 2.0 requirements and features an extremely low on-capacitance of 5.7 pF typical. Its wide bandwidth of 720 MHz exceeds the requirements for passing the third harmonic, ensuring signals with minimum edge and phase distortion. Superior channel-to-channel crosstalk minimizes interference.

 

The FSUSB43L10X includes special circuitry for applications where the VCC supply is powered off (VCC = 0), allowing the device to withstand over-voltage conditions. This minimizes current consumption even when the control voltage on the SEL pin is lower than the supply voltage. It is packaged in a 10-lead MicroPak™ (1.6 mm x 2.1 mm) and is suitable for surface mounting.

 

Typical applications include switching and connector sharing in portable devices such as cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras, printers, and notebook computers.
