FSB50250BS

The FSB50250BS is an advanced Motion SPM 5 series power driver module from onsemi, providing a fully-featured, high-performance inverter output stage for AC induction, BLDC, and PMSM motors. It integrates optimized gate drive for the built-in FRFET MOSFETs to minimize EMI and losses, while offering multiple on-module protection features including under-voltage lockouts and thermal monitoring.

The module is rated for a maximum drain-source voltage of 500V and a continuous drain current of 1.9A at 25°C (1.2A at 80°C), with a peak drain current of 5.0A. It is optimized for switching frequencies above 10kHz and features an active-high interface compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic, with Schmitt-trigger inputs. The built-in high-speed HVIC requires only a single supply voltage and translates logic-level gate inputs to high-voltage, high-current drive signals.

This surface-mount module comes in a 23-PowerSMD Module with gull wing leads (SPM5Q-023 package) and provides 1500Vrms isolation. It includes built-in bootstrap diodes to simplify PCB layout and separate open-source pins from low-side MOSFETs for three-phase current sensing. The module is Pb-Free and RoHS compliant, with UL certification (No. E209204, UL1557).

Typical applications include 3-phase inverter drivers for small power AC motor drives such as refrigerators, fans, and pumps. The separate open-source MOSFET terminals for each phase support a wide variety of control algorithms.
