The FR303G is a glass passivated fast recovery rectifier from SMC Diode Solutions, part of the FR30xG series. It is rated for a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 200V and an average forward rectified current of 3A at TL=75°C. The device can handle a non-repetitive peak forward surge current of 125A (8.3ms single half sine-wave). Its fast recovery time of 150ns (under specified test conditions) makes it suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
Electrical characteristics include a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.3V at 3A, a reverse current of 5µA at 25°C rating, and a typical junction capacitance of 60pF at 4V. The thermal resistance from junction to ambient is 20°C/W with 0.375" lead length on PCB. The operating junction and storage temperature range is -65°C to 150°C.
The FR303G is housed in a DO-201AD molded plastic body with axial leads, weighing approximately 1.1 grams. The package is Pb-free and solderable per MIL-STD-750. It features a color band to indicate cathode polarity and can be mounted in any position. The device is supplied in tape/reel packaging with a standard package quantity of 1250 pieces (unverified).
Designed for general purpose rectification, the FR303G offers low forward voltage drop and high surge capability, making it appropriate for power supply circuits, freewheeling diodes, and other applications requiring fast recovery.
