The FPC402RHUR from Texas Instruments is a specialized Quad Port Controller designed to manage low-speed control signals for common port types like SFP and QSFP. This IC facilitates I2C aggregation and GPIO management across multiple ports, reducing the need for discrete I2C multiplexers and high-pin-count control devices. It supports a selectable I2C or SPI host control interface, with I2C operating up to 1 MHz and SPI up to 10 MHz. The device features automatic prefetching of critical data, broadcast mode for simultaneous writes to all ports, and advanced LED features for port status indication, including programmable blinking and dimming.
